Active - Any person eligible for membership will become an active member upon making a charitable gift to the CFAA within the current or most recent fiscal year, such gift entitling the individual to the privileges of being an active member.

Inactive - Any eligible person who has not given a charitable gift with the current or most recent fiscal year will be inactive, therefore losing the privileges of being an active member.

Sponsored - Any former player who did not finish their four years of NCAA eligibility, but has shown a willingness and desire to be a contributing member of the association. In order to become a sponsored member, an active member must present a case for allowing said person into association during annual business meeting. The sponsored person must then give his testimony to why he desires to become a member of the CFAA. All present members at the annual business meeting will have a show of hands vote; must be a majority decision to allow in. Once a sponsored member is given his membership, he gains the privileges of an active member so long as he maintains his active membership. Once a sponsored member becomes inactive, he loses the ability to become an active member again.

Lifetime - A Life Time member is one that has been an Active member for 25 years, or has given in excess of $25,000 over his course of membership. A member will become a Life-Time member when either of these qualifications have been met. Life-Time members are no longer required to maintain their active status; since they are now considered active for the duration of their life.

Associate - Any person who has contributed greatly to the UMHB football program for an extended period of time. This person can be a staff member, faculty member, coach, friend of the program, trainer, etc. These person will be brought up for a vote by the Council during the annual business meeting. A majority vote gives the associate member, full active membership privileges minus voting rights, and the ability to be a member of the Council. This person must maintain his/her active membership through yearly charitable gifts to the CFAA.

Honorary - Any person selected by the board and executive director for their continued support for the UMHB football program. This person must receive a 2/3 vote from the Board. Nominations must be presented to the Board prior to the 3rd Quarter Board Meeting.  Honorary members gain full active membership privileges minus voting rights, and the ability to be a member of the Council.
